Baseline- the line the characters sit on
Meanline- line that sits on top of lower case letters
X-height- distance between baseline and meanline
Cap height- from baseline to top of capital letters
Ascender- top sticking out part of a letter
Descender- bottom sticking out part
Serifs- little parts on the bottom of letters
Stem- thickest line in letter
Bar- thin line on letter
Bowl- curved part of circular letter
Counter- inside of bowl
Leg- bottom stroke of letter
Shoulder- curved part of letter
Points- 1/72 of an inch
Width- width of a letter
